American Cancer Society Collecting New and Used Wigs for “Look Good…Feel Better” Program for Cancer Patients on July 19

INLAND EMPIRE—When Liz Williams of Moreno Valley found out that she could help cancer patients by collecting wigs for the American Cancer Society’s “Look Good…Feel Better” program, she knew what she had to do. The wig-wearing volunteer, who has a flair for fashion, put together the “Give a Wig!” collection drive, with the goal of putting a smile on the face of a patient who has lost their hair due to treatment.

“I love wigs, and I’ve worn many over the years. This is a chance for everyone to help a cancer patient, and it’s so easy,” said Williams.

To participate on Saturday, July 19, donors can simply place their freshly washed wig in a zip-lock bag and drop it off at one of the three participating locations:

Uni Beauty Supply and Salon, 12220 Pigeon Pass Rd., Moreno Valley, next to Farmer Boys MVP Beauty, 24515 Alessandro Blvd., in Moreno Valley Wigs on Wheels at March Air Force Base, next to the Commissary near the Graham and Cactus gates.

The Society’s “Look Good…Feel Better” program is for patients dealing with the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Participants receive wonderful instruction on how to deal with loss of hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, and more from a specially-trained volunteer licensed cosmetologist. Patients also are gifted with a bag of free makeup from national sponsors such as Avon, Estee Lauder, and Clinique, valued at over $300.

The Look Good…Feel Better program is available in a dozen locations throughout the Inland Empire. To sign up for the program, call the American Cancer Society at (800) ACS-2345. To find out more about donating wigs, call Alynn Rannalli in the patient services department of the American Cancer Society at (951) 300-1202.

Urban Sports of UrbanLyfeStyles presents Bill Pickett's Invitational Rodeo...The Nation's Only Touring Black Rodeo. The Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo is an innovative, educational and exciting perspective of the history of the Black American West.

In fact, Texas was discovered and explored by a Black cowboy named Estavanico, and over 35% of the cattle trail drivers in Texas were Black. Entire Black communities existed on the frontier of the Old West - over one-half million families in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas alone.

The famous Lewis and Clark Expedition was led by a Black scout, and a Black cowboy named Bill Pickett. Bill created "bulldogging", which has become one of the major rodeo events today.

Realizing the historical significance of the Black cowboy, Lu Vason developed the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo Series which is the first of its kind. In September, 1984, the first Bill Pickett Black Rodeo drew thousands of spectators and has grown into a series that is witnessed by over 70,000 annually.

Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo:
"It's a rodeo, African American style!"

It's fatherhood vs fatherless...and UrbanLyfeStyles is proud to bring to you Street Positve's Million Father March.

Special Message From Street Positive

"It is said that you can tell the interest of a person by where they put their time and money.

Consider then, the status of our nation's youth. How much effort has been placed in truly helping them succeed in life.

At StreetPositive.com we believe "it takes a village to raise a child" to a level, whereby, they can grow, harvest and return to society a greater value than what they have taken away.

But, if society fails to promote, protect and provide the positive resources for our youth to "take it to the next level", then what basis do we have to complain about the negative they cause for both themselves and others. So, where are you putting your time and money?

Parenting is the ultimate responsibility in getting a child from point A to point B. A responsibility no parent should neglect.

Get Street Style Positive™. And, "lets get this youth thing headed to the positive!"

Spend time with your child. Or, Someone else will.

Peace!"
